Jokeroo

To attain this objective, they encourage other hackers to pay them $90-$600 and get the membership. Further, once this virus enters a computer, it leaves the user with nothing. Nor money is left with the users neither the key to decrypt the data. Thanatos

A newly discovered ransomware family is generating a different encryption key for each of the encrypted files but saves none of them, thus making data recovery impossible.

The issue with the new ransomware is that it, because it doesn’t save the encryption keys, files cannot be decrypted normally. However, victims don’t know that and might end up paying the ransom in the hope they can recover their files.

Dubbed Thanatos, the malware was discovered by MalwareHunterTeam and already analyzed by several other security researchers.

When encrypting files on a computer, the malware appends the “.THANATOS” extension to them. After completing the encryption, the malware connects to a specific URL to report back, thus allowing attackers to keep track of the number of infected victims.

Conficker

Conficker is a computer worm developed by malware authors to infect Windows computers with the vulnerability (MS08–067) and spread the infection to other such vulnerable Windows computers connected to the network without any human intervention. It is also called Downadup. It has affected millions of Windows systems and has generated a botnet like infrastructure.

It uses the unpatched flaws in Windows software to enter your system. Once it enters, the PC converts into a botnet slave and is used to extort money from the user. Thus, update your Windows software to keep it secured.

MyDoom

Mydoom is the fastest spreading virus after ILOVEYOU. It spreads through email that contains the message “andy; I’m just doing my job, nothing personal, sorry”. Once it infects a PC, it enters other PCs through the user’s email address book.

Shadow hammer
